Powhatan Lacrosse is a non-profit organization established in 2013 . Our mission is to give every player a chance to pursue their passion for Lacrosse by engaging them with constant preparation, competition, and teamwork. Our objective is to provide the best product and service possible for our players within the county by utilizing the four-pillars of our organization:
1) Provide a wholesome, safe, and competitive experience for our players,
2) Encourage student/athletics and excellence in the classroom.
3) Provide a rewarding experience for coaches, parents, sponsors, and others through their relationships in teaching and through mentorship of our communities’ youth,
4) Lastly, we provide a well-organized and implemented program that is appreciated and favorably received by the parents of our community.
Unfortunately, in accomplishing this, there is a high cost, overhead. Powhatan Lacrosse provides our first time players with the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) possible to include new helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, practice equipment and training aids to promote a safe and productive environment.
We are one of the luckier organizations, having a stadium field with possibilities of concessions, a press box, bleachers on both sides of the field, restroom facilities and a well-maintained field. The costs are not just a small fee, because we have no limit on the number of players that can sign up, and we will turn no player away.
Finally, Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation. It is steadily growing stronger in Powhatan. Without the support of community sponsors we would be unable to operate, providing the best product possible for the community and our players and fans alike.
